Dr Tim Lane is the founder and president of The Institute for Pastoral Care, a non-profit organisation that equips local churches to care for their people, and Tim Lane Associates, a counselling practice located in Peachtree City, Georgia.
He is a minister in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) and has a Master of Divinity and Doctorate in Pastoral Counselling.
Tim has authored:
- Unstuck: A Nine-Step Journey to Change That Lasts (2019)
And co-authored:
- How People Change and Relationships: A Mess Worth Making (2007)

Andy Bannister is the current Director of the Solas Centre for Public Christianity, an organisation that equips Christians to talk confidently about their faith and engages culture with the good news of Jesus Christ.
Prior to working with Solas, Andy was Director and Lead Apologist at the Canada office of Ravi Zacharias International Ministries. Andy holds a PhD in Islamic studies and is an Adjunct Research Fellow at the Centre for the Study of Islam and Other Faiths at Melbourne School of Theology.
Andy is the author of An Oral-Formulaic Study of the Qur’an and his latest book, The Atheist Who Didn’t Exist (or: The Terrible Consequences of Really Bad Arguments), is a humorous engagement with the New Atheism. When not travelling, speaking, or writing, Andy is a keen hiker, mountain climber, and photographer. He is married to Astrid; they have two children, Caitriona and Christopher.

She is the author of numerous books including her most recent book, Even Better Than Eden: Nine Ways the Bible’s Story Changes Everything About Your Story, and is the host of the Help Me Teach the Bible podcast at The Gospel Coalition. She offers companionship and biblical insight to the grieving through Respite Retreats that she and her husband, David, host for couples who have faced the death of child, and through the GriefShare video series.

Today our guest is Bob Akroyd, Chairman of the Free Church of Scotland Mission Board and a Systematic Theology lecturer at Edinburgh Theological Seminary (ETS).
Bob grew up in Lawrenceville, New Jersey and studied American History at the University of Virginia (founded by Thomas Jefferson in 1819). Following two years of teaching English in Japan, he came to the University of Edinburgh to study Scottish History in 1990. Attending Buccleuch Free Church in Edinburgh and listening to tapes of the late Douglas MacMillan, Bob was converted in 1993. In 1996, he completed his PhD on “Lord Rosebery and Scottish Nationalism (1868 – 1896).” He continued his studies at the Free Church College from 1996 - 1999. In August 1999, Bob was ordained and inducted as Assistant Minister at Buccleuch Free Church in Edinburgh where he served with his friend and senior Minister Alex MacDonald for more than 13 years. Bob has also served as a Prison Chaplain at Saughton Prison, an honorary Chaplain at Edinburgh University and a volunteer at Bethany Christian Trust.
In 2012, Bob was appointed to the Chair of Systematic Theology at the Free Church College. In 2013, Bob completed an MTh at New College, Edinburgh on “Benjamin Breckinridge Warfield (1851 – 1921) & the Essence of Christianity.” At ETS, Bob is the course organiser for Systematic Theology, Practical Theology and the Access to Theology Course.
Bob is married to Heather and they live in Edinburgh.

Louise is married to Neil MacMillan, a church planter in Edinburgh's Morningside, they have four children. Together they have planted three churches in Scotland, the latest of which is Cornerstone, Edinburgh.
